Show Review

Date: January 03 2009
Lineup: Steel Nation, Deathright, Pushing On, Junkyard Dogs, Aggressor, Control, Bruin
Location: KC's Music Alley, Fredricksburg, VA

This was an early show so Erika, Chris, Laura and I left around 2:00pm. The car ride was slow. I hate traffic. Start: Review.

Bruin- Decent set; this band hails from Fredricksburg. This band has disbanded since. For fans of Have Heart, Verse, Sinking Ships.

Control- A band from Washington DC, this band was cool. Fast and melodic at times, my only qualm was their stage presence. Otherwise, solid band.

Aggressor- A bunch of local kids started to jam and this band was the result. Very tough '98 NJHC at times and overly melodic at others. They lost me with the Cold World cover. Meh.

Junkyard Dogs- Opened with "Enforcer" by Leeway. This band fucking rules. I enjoyed their set thoroughly. The new breed of Virginia Hardcore. They also covered Cro-Mags "Hard Times" and The Icemen "The Harsh Truth". The future of what's next. You aren't ready.

Pushing On- VBHC. These are my boys. Carry On cover was tight. This is Virginia Beach Youth in their prime. Check these dudes out. Last Anthem Records.

Deathright- This band was awesome. Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, their set was tight. Very heavy. Take 'The Promise' and 'Those Who Fear Tomorrow', mix them together. Good set.

Steel Nation- People were going ape shit. This band was awesome. Some kid was knocked out mid-set. Heavy and metal influenced. This band is playing with Title Fight in Richmond in a couple months. Come out! LBHC
